We’re like them

I was inspired to blog by my friend Chaz Branch.  I thought I needed to have lengthy thoughts to bother with blogging, but I decided not to let that keep me from getting started, so here goes:

This morning, while working on my plan to read the New Testament through in 90 days, I read about Jesus feeding the five thousand in Matthew 14.   Jesus’ disciples asked him to send the crowd away so they could go find themselves something to eat.  “Jesus replied, ‘They do not need to go away.  You give them something to eat.'” Matthew 14:16.  The disciples were astonished that He would ask them to do such a thing.  They only had five loaves of bread and two fish!

I noticed some notes I took in the margin at the bottom of my Bible.  I had written:  We’re no different than the disciples here.  He asks us to do things we think we can’t BUT if we bring it to Him and trust Him to provide, we can accomplish the same miracle they did.

What is God asking you to do that you think there is no way you have enough (money, time, patience, talent, etc.) to do?  Just take what you have to Him, trust Him to multiply it and wait for the miraculous results!
